Much effort has been spent trying to define what “wokeness” is. And what good is a right wing blog if it doesn’t have a go doing the same? Almost every definition falls somewhere within the orbit of propagating progressive politics. Given the very nature of progressive politics, getting at a concrete definition is a moving target. What was once obnoxiously progressive in the 90’s is now hopelessly bigoted. Look no further than the television show Friends which was deemed “problematic” after it was brought to Netflix and watched by millennial shitlibs for the first time.

The term “woke” itself seems to have originated among blacks, and was used to mean “awake, or aware” of various factoids with which an enlightened black would have to contend, like that White people allegedly harvest their melanin and sell it as a sleep supplement, or that black Africans were the real Hebrews of the Bible. The term later escaped containment and found use among White and jewish progressives.

Interestingly, “woke” was a self-description. People who aren’t psychopathic mutants only started using the term to describe progressivism after seeing progressives themselves adopt the label. Nowadays, “woke” is part slur, part accusation. Nobody except jews and a tiny portion of self-loathing White leftists actually like progressivism, and many of them are aware that they cannot be honest about what they’re trying to sell the public, and so they take great pains to avoid having the accusation of wokeness stick.

It must be borne in mind that words don’t actually mean things to leftists. Think of the dictionary definitions of terms like racism, sexism, misogyny, abuse, indigenous, etc, and compare them to how you see leftists actually use them. They have a vague sense that normal people understand that words have semantic content, and so they use the terms most likely to provoke a reaction and induce favorable behavior.

They call normal people racists because they think discrimination based on immutable characteristics is wrong, and so the accusation puts them on the back foot. It is meant to gaslight the victim into a false sense of guilt. Repeated often enough, the accusation sticks, the accused victim capitulates to the accuser and gives them what they want: a confession, donations to leftist money-laundering 501(c)3s, termination from their jobs, separation from their families, etc. Repeat for a century, and now FEMA is more concerned about misgendering illegal aliens than ensuring the safety of White North Carolinians who were caught in the recent hurricane.

Leftists understand language the same way dogs do. They understand that certain sounds provoke certain reactions, and utilize language to further their own ends.

Not wanting to be tarred and feathered with the woke label, leftists will play games with what “wokeness” actually means, then will reject every definition given. It cannot be stressed enough that leftists are simply incapable of engaging in good faith. Leftism is simply psychopathic resentment, the policy proposals are nothing but vehicles to gain power over people they despise. Thus, trying to pitch a working definition of a slur they don’t want appended to themselves is utterly pointless. Of course they’re going to lie, why wouldn’t they?

To the normie right-winger or even someone who is politically unengaged, wokeness has the character of Justice Potter Stewart’s remarks about what constitutes obscenity in Jacobellis v. Ohio: “I know it when I see it.” It is a gut reaction to distinct unpleasantness being foisted upon them. I have the luxury of giving deep thought to these topics, so I could explain that people don’t like wokeness because progressive politics are evil and specifically anti-White. People prefer the company of others like themselves, and so Whites (who constitute the majority of, say, gamers and are the prime target of woke propaganda) are naturally made uncomfortable by the incongruous inclusion of non-Asian minorities. Homosexuality is inherently disgusting, as is transsexuality, and so they are quite naturally repulsed by that as well. Being lectured about having “privilege” (another undefined accusation meant to induce guilt) is grating. Consuming media is generally meant to be enjoyable, and most people don’t want to be made to feel uncomfortable unless there’s some overriding purpose for being subject to discomfort. Blowing sunshine up the asses of joyless scolds isn’t a sufficient reason to pay money to be harangued.

Unfortunately, the normie’s thoughts are shaped by the propaganda to which they’ve been subjected to their entire lives, and so they’re incapable of articulating what I’ve just laid out. To the extent that they do give this topic any thought, they do so while operating within an inherently materialistic, atheistic, tabula rasa-dominated mental framework. “Diversity is great, as long as it isn’t forced diversity.” I’m sure you’ve seen a thousand other examples of normies not really understanding the issue.

Arriving finally at our conclusion, I think I’ve found the pithiest, most descriptive definition of wokeness:

Wokeness is anti-White spite.
